2020 Workshops

The New Year IS here. And, I’ve been reviewing my new 2020 calendar, trying to determine the best dates for 2020 Workshops. I have a preliminary schedule below. The topics and registration links will be active by February 2020. Thank you again for supporting my small business and I’m looking forward to meeting the “newbies” and seeing my regular attendees again. Cyou soon, Cathy Testa

February 13 – Seed Talk at the Burlington Garden Club – Not a workshop but if you happen to live near, this is a great opportunity to learn about seed sowing (tomatoes, peppers, and some other veggies). The topic is called, “How to Sow Seeds” by Cathy Testa. This demonstration is the perfect time to learn about the process of sowing seeds, which usually starts around early March for some veggies, and mid March for peppers and April for some tomatoes. I will go over the stages, timing, planning, how to learn about last frost dates, and review seed varieties. Handouts will be provided. Seeds will be available for purchase at the session.

March 14 – I will be at the Ellington Farmers Winter Market to show Seed Starting Sessions and there will be some practice hands-on available for a small fee. More details soon! For location and time, please visit the market’s website. I am are looking forward to being at the market again this year.

Seed Starting Sessions – Not this year, but will have Seedlings for Sale.

My Seed Starting Workshop Sessions: Will not be offered in 2020 by Cathy T, so sorry! I thoroughly enjoyed teaching these sessions last year, and it was so much fun to care for everyone’s seed trays as they germinated and grew to starter plants in my greenhouse, but I need to free up the greenhouse this season for my own growing. I enjoy growing tomatoes and peppers so much myself and space is limited. However, if you have an interest in learning about the seed sowing process, please visit the market noted above, or Burlington, CT’s demonstration if you are near their area. And I will have starter plants of tomatoes, peppers, and others ready by Memorial Day again for those interested. Stay tuned!

May 9, 2020 – Container Gardening related workshops – what will the topic be? We shall see! I have some ideas brewing. We did the Succulent Hanging Baskets last season for this topic – what should we do this year? Ideas anyone? I still love the idea of offering the baskets again but still brainstorming. Will keep you posted.

Oct 3 and Oct 10 – Succulent Topped Pumpkins Workshops. This one is definitely a keeper. We love showcasing our beautiful centerpieces in the autumn at home.

Dec 5 and Dec 12 – Holiday Workshops (Kissing Balls, Wreaths, and Candle Centerpieces). Two primary dates but may be adding more dates somehow in there due to requests from 2019 people. Will keep you all posted.

That is all for now, more information will be posted on this site about each workshop by early February. If you want to “pencil” in these tentative dates on your new calendars, this is the time to do.
