Information:

Learn how to master the art of container gardening/patio pots and plant up your mixed arrangement at the workshop! Each year, we highlight a special educational component and “new” plant themes. We go over “hot trends”  and more at this hands-on, fun, and convenient workshop. Don’t miss out – We do all the work for you – you show up and plant! Many reference hand-outs are provided in our workshops.

2017 Featured Plants:

Our featured plants this year are “indoor gardening style” which are beautiful outdoors in season and then taken in to enjoy year round for fall and winter. Your containers will be showy 365 days a year. These plants are air purifiers too. Learn about their benefits and beauty. The plants are various tropical houseplants. We will include succulents as well.

What You Bring:

Your patio pot(s). Please note, in year’s past – we have focused on rather large pots for perennials, big tropical plants, and more – but this year – with the new plant theme – you should bring medium to smaller pot(s). These types of plants perform better when potted up to a size bigger than their original growing pots.  Think about “a grouping” of pot(s) as a choice as well if you wish. The diameter should be about 12″ to 15″ but you may bring smaller solo pots if you wish. The depth should not exceed the diameter. Basically, you want medium sized pots (not huge like we have done in our former container gardening workshops). Exact details are furnished once you register – so please don’t delay registering. Also, we go over the pot types and styles to look for – get ready to have fun and learn with us.

Other optional items to bring:

You may bring your own bag of container gardening soil mix or purchase professional soil mix at the workshop. Additionally, you may bring own garden gloves, trowel, or pruners as needed. All details on what to bring and expect are emailed to registered attendees. We also offer fertilizer and compost for sale as needed. Since it is a full day (or at least half day!) of fun and learning, bringing snacks or a bagged lunch is a good idea too.

Other Types of Plants:

We expect to offer a mix of succulents as well as the houseplants, but the main theme is “tropical houseplant style” this season. We like to mix it up every year so we continue to learn, grow, and expand our styles and choices. We are excited about our plant grower’s wonderful selection. Photos of the plants are posted on Container Crazy CT’s Instagram feed.
