Information:
Terrariums are beautiful indoor or outdoor garden scenes enclosed in a glass vessel which encourage a small ecosystem allowing the plants to thrive and last a very long time. They are created by including either succulent like plants or low-light miniature indoor plants. The many plant types offer a plethora of options for themes. Many are created in glass fish bowls, but the style of the vessel used is open to your creativity.
In this workshop, you may bring your own glass vessel or purchase one from the stock which will be available in various styles and price ranges. At this workshop, you will learn about the components required to build a healthy, long-lasting terrarium which includes the ingredients required, supplies, tools, and special toppings to finish the look.
In regards to designs and themes, again – your creativity comes into play – and sometimes the type of plants, whether tropical or desert like, will influence your ultimate terrarium design. There are many choices. You will learn about them all.
Lastly, the plant knowledge you will gain at this workshop will enhance your future success with terrariums because in terrarium environments, specific plants are accustom to not only surviving in this eco-terrarium style container garden, but they thrive. Learn about the many types of plants found to work best, what they are, and how to keep them going easily. Propagation and maintenance tips will be provided.
Why April?
Container Crazy CT selected “April” as the timing for this workshop because Easter themed terrariums are absolutely adorable, with mini bunnies and decor. However, your choice of embellishments is truly up to you. Terrariums may be themed a number of ways, for example, a child’s theme is fun to create or an imaginary woodland garden. You may create a terrarium to honor a special place, person, or pet. Terrariums make wonderful table centerpieces, table-top decor, and gifts for special occasions.
